The weather gets better and better in the Faroese, and the days gets longer and longer. This means the summer is just around the corner! inFAROE has put together one annual calendar of Faroe Islands biggest and best, oldest and newest festivals and events for the summer of 2015. So remember to add some x’es on your calender!

Boat Festival
14 – 16 May During the three day boats festival, boats gather in Vestmanna from all across the country to enjoy food, concerts, boat races, and parties.

Country and Blues Festival
5 – 6 June Its all in the name – A festival devoted solely to country and blues music.

9 June – 19 August The association was founded on the 14th of November 1987. The purposes of the association are to nurture the interests of Faroese composers, to protect their rights and to actively seek to improve the composers’ artistic and financial circumstances.

Tórshavn Marathon
13 June The 13th Tórshavn Marathon will take place on Saturday June 13th 2015. It will be a uniqe running experience in the beautiful Faroe Islands.

G! Festival
16 – 18 July The annual three-day celebration of music is unique. Sure, music festivals are held on islands and beaches around the world. But G! is something else. Taking over the village of Syðrugöta – population 400 – on the island of Eysturoy, the festival’s stages are built on the beach and the football pitch, right under the windows of houses. Locals welcome the visitors, a refreshing contrast to the grudging reception which can greet festival goers elsewhere.

28 – 29 July Ólavsøka is the biggest summer festival in the Faroe Islands, and by most Faroese considered as the national holiday of the Faroes along with the Flagday on 25 April. Ólavsøka is celebrated for several days, but the day itself is on July 29
